78 units, small pool, spa, bbq area, free hi-speed Internet access in rooms, room safes, lighted tennis court. Every fourth day maid service with the first set of numbers. The developer seems to have spared…well, lots of expenses, actually. Like the endless concrete stairs at every turn, cheap-looking fixtures, etc. Some of the units are fairly nice inside, many are not. We’ve never been real warm toward Makahuena. The location out on the point will expose you to lots of sea spray-laden wind, so don’t expect the windows to stay clean. Those winds, however, tend to keep the units cool. There are 8 different floor plans, so it’s hard to say if you’ll get a good one. Second floor units are better for views, whereas many first floor units are partly below ground. 1/1 units (732 sq. ft.) are $270–$325, 2/2 units (1,157–1,217 sq. ft.) are $300–$430, 3/3 units  (1,380 sq. ft.) are $455–$485. The Parrish Collection Kaua‘i and Po‘ipu Connection Realty both have a few units here for less money.
