From the immaculate, garden-like grounds (complete with birds and koi) to the smashing pool area, this place works. The overall feel is calming. They have tons of artwork strewn around the resort. Marriott has an unbelievable circular pool with a bridge to the center island and spas along one edge. What strikes us as most impressive about the Marriott is the service. They obviously take great pains to provide whatever the guest wants. The 2009 $50 million renovation of the rooms yielded modernly furnished results with good use of colors. Their Kalapaki Kids program does a good job keeping kids entertained for $70 per day. They also have a night camp on Wednesdays for $50 and will take non-Marriott child guests at all the programs for $10 more. There are lots of shops here. They organize many activities, such as scuba diving in their pool, beach massages and private beach or poolside dinners. They have many cultural programs on site. They are fairly close to the airport, so you will hear some noise, but it’s not badprobably because the pool area is filled with the white noise of falling water. If you desire one of the poolside casabella chairs, it will cost you $35 per day, and a cabana at the beach will run you $50 per day! They devoted 232 of their rooms to timeshares. The hotel-type rooms are only in the Ha‘upu building or the top two floors of the Kahili building, so if you want to directly face the ocean, you will want the Kahili building. A convenient parking lot is behind the Ha‘upu building if you are self-parking. There is a mandatory resort fee of $20 which includes in-room Internet and self-parking. Rooms (332520 sq. ft.) are $390$555. Suites (1,0002,114 sq. ft.) are $725$2,600. Lots of packages available. |
